I love it! Regardless of being pressured by American representatives here in Europe (which I consider highly inappropriate to begin with), the European parliament has stood up against the madness that is done in the name of the "fight against terrorism" and has refused to sign the so-called SWIFT agreement that would have allowed them to monitor each and every money transfer to and from most European countries. Not that it would change much – the NSA probably already knows the full details of my bank account – but it’s about time someone reminded the US that they are not yet ruling the world. I really wish this would happen more often and our politicians wouldn’t be sucking up as much "in the interest of good transatlantic relations". Yeah, there will be some diplomatic furball for a while, but America should just get used to it that on some level other states can stand on their own and they get the finger every now and then.
